WELCOME TO SLEEPY HOLLOW CAMPGROUND

Family Campground since 1964. Phase 1 of remodel complete Spring 2021. This is a rustic campground and our main attraction is the natural outdoors!
The RV sites have been upgraded to include 30 AMP electric hookups with a few 50 AMP sites. There are several different sizes. Unfortunately the sites do not have sewer/water hookups, however the bathhouse is conveniently located and there is also a dump station ($5 fee) a few miles from the campground. We know you'll enjoy your stay at our RV Campsites.
Get out and enjoy some time under the stars while tent camping! This low cost option doesn't require much but we think you'll enjoy the many different tent sites throughout the campground. Most sites are located close to the bathhouse which is centrally located on the property. We think you'll have a comfortable and enjoyable outdoor stay with us.
We have convenient options for traveling families or seasonal campers. The rates will vary depending on the duration of stay and location/size of site. We are confident you'll find our rates very reasonable and competitive.

AMENITIES & ATTRACTIONS
WATER ACTIVITIES
Sleepy Hollow Campground provides you with the amenities you need for an enjoyable outdoor experience. Located less than a mile away from New Germany State Park, there are many water activities to enjoy there. Fishing, kayaking, and swimming are a few of the outdoor activities that you can enjoy at the park. Deep Creek Lake is also a popular, larger lake in Garrett County where you can enjoy boating and water skiing. Deep Creek Lake is approximately 20 mins away.
HIKING, BIKING & TRAILS
There are a wide variety of trails that you can enjoy hiking and biking on. Surrounded by New Germany State park and other state land provides countless opportunities to get out and enjoy nature. A trail map can be emailed to you and/or obtained from the state park.
FACILITIES
The bathhouse is centrally located on the property. Newly renovated in 2021, we hope you enjoy the upgraded facilities. There are no laundry facilities on site, however there are some in the town of Grantsville, just 10 minutes away.
WIFI
While we understand technology is important, we currently do not offer wifi service. This may be an inconvenience, but we rather look at it as a benefit. Take a minute to unplug from technology. Sit back, relax and enjoy all that nature has to offer.
SPORTSMAN OPPORTUNITIES
Western Maryland is home to a wide range of wildlife. Very likely you will see some of the wildlife while staying at Sleepy Hollow. Please do not feed the animals. Located adjacent to state land, Sleepy Hollow Campground is also a perfect place to stay when visiting Garrett County to participate in hunting season.

Situated in the Appalachian Mountains of Western Maryland, Sleepy Hollow Campground was established in Grantsville, Maryland in 1964. My grandparents, Blayne 'Doc' and Helena 'Grace' Shunk were the founders and built this campground on their farm which boarders New Germany State Park. The farm, which has been in our family for generations, holds a special place in my heart! I am fortunate and honored to continue the family campgound for years to come.
